Who/What's Bowery Records?

Marc Lindahl started Bowery Records earlier this year ('95) for a few reasons:

How do you contact us?

Well, send us some email! Look around, follow the links, and check out our artists. Check out the things we can do for you. Then tell us who you are, and what you're looking for!

Someday, we hope to sell records & CD's right here! But that's still in the future.

What if you're an artist, looking for a record company/producer/etc?

This is where we give the shpiel about demo tapes. Now, put yourself in our shoes. we have phat acts, and we're in the lab almost every night cooking up some gravy, kid! Now, if you send us a tape that happens to have the same sample, or lyrical phrase, etc. on it, then when we put our stuff out, you might try to sue our a**!

So, we have no choice but to claim that once you send them to Bowery Records, they become the sole undisputable and eternal property of Bowery Records! (that's called the cover yer ass phrase)

If you have some good stuff, send us some email and tell us about you and your material. We'll probably ask you to send us a tape. That's what's called 'shopping'!

Links to MPEG Audio Players

You'll need one of these to play/decode the audio files on this site...

Finally! I found a realtime MPEG player for windows, which seems to actually work! It's from philips. Or, attempt to load the last copy I grabbed locally.

George Warner's Home page -- he wrote the MPEG coder we use! It decodes, too! NOTE that his www server seems to be a little more than a little cranky, so if you don't get a response, keep trying!

Search for Macintosh MPEG-audio stuff...

Search for Windows MPEG-audio stuff...

Check out the Audio Engineering Society's links...

Local copies MPEG Players

We're keeping local Mac and PC MPEG Audio players that weknow work, as we've had some problems with some. These are the ones we use to check the audio here.

Let us know if you run into problems with them, or want a file at a higher fidelity, or have any other suggestions.

MPEG Audio for the Mac (113KB Compact Pro archive)

MPEGPLAY.EXE for Windows.
